Being in a shelter for an extended period can have a significant impact on a dog’s well-being. The constant feeling of rejection takes a toll on their spirits, leaving them with a dimmed light. One such dog is Major, a four-year-old terrier/pitbull mix, currently residing at the Humane Society for Hamilton County in Indiana.
Major’s journey began when he was found as a stray last summer. The shelter staff discovered he had a microchip, allowing them to contact his original owners. Although they promised to come and retrieve him, they never showed up. Since then, Major has been patiently waiting at the shelter, hoping for a second chance at a loving home.
Despite facing heartbreak and rejection, Major initially displayed a happy and hopeful demeanor. Described as a “sweet and sensitive” dog, he is known for his friendly nature and a big heart.
Major loves to play and cherishes his Jolly Ball, making him a true companion. The shelter staff affectionately called him “Major hunk” and “Major heartthrob,” emphasizing his handsome appearance.
