Wheel of Fortune presenter Pat Sajak has had an amazing journey, but it is coming to an end. After 41 seasons and 8,010 episodes, the 77-year-old, who has been the show’s leader since its start, is now scheduled to retire from the syndicated puzzle game show on Friday, June 7.
Sajak has won three Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Game Show Host during his stay, and he is now listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest-running host on the same programme.
Vanna White, his longtime co-host, recently gave a moving homage to him as his last episode draws near, celebrating their incredible collaboration that has lasted more than 40 years.
Sajak recently offered a touching pre-recorded message to the audience and the longstanding host who came before him during Sajak’s penultimate Wheel of Fortune episode. She reflected on their shared adventure and expressed shock that Sajak was retiring in her message.
