In a heartwarming story from 2017, Mary Grams of Alberta, Canada, was reunited with her long-lost engagement ring after it was found wrapped around a carrot in her garden. The incredible discovery came almost 13 years after Mary had lost hope of ever seeing her beloved ring again.
Mary had lost her engagement ring back in 2004 while tending to the weeds on her family’s farm. She searched tirelessly for days but couldn’t find it anywhere. Little did she know that fate had something special in store for her.
The discovery was made by Mary’s daughter-in-law, who plucked a peculiar-looking carrot from the garden. To everyone’s astonishment, the carrot had Mary’s engagement ring tightly wrapped around its root. It was a moment of pure joy and disbelief for Mary and her family.
Recounting the day she lost the ring, Mary said, “I went to the garden for something and I saw this long weed. For some reason, I picked it up and it must have caught on something and pulled [the ring] off.” She had been wearing the ring since 1951, a year before she married her husband, Norman. Despite their efforts to find it, they were unable to locate the ring and assumed it was lost forever.
